Pollinator gardens are exactly what we need for pollinator conservation, and a happy future for all of our amazing pollinator species. The beautiful thing is that adding such natural gardens to our landscaping is really easy. Pollinator gardens can be chameleonized into many other motifs. A fairy garden can secretly double as a pollinator garden. Even a butterfly garden has nice crossover value.
If a person happens to be obsessed with fireflies or dragonflies, we can build them a “Firefly Garden” or a “Dragonfly Garden.” Those specialized plans will also support the more commonly considered pollinator species: our region’s bumblebees, Orchard Mason Bees, Solitary Nesting Bees, docile Pollinating Wasps and many other insects.
