Wildflower Lawn Seed Mix.
Over the past decade of lawn observation, we’ve learned a lot. There are a handful of native wildflowers we frequently find successfully making their living right in folks’ organic lawns. As a matter of fact, these flowers blend in well with the turf and present as evergreen with zero fertilizer or irrigation. They’re tough enough and step-able even for soccer/baseball fields. Additionally, this wildflower lawn mix is the lowest maintenance lawn option on the market. Consequently, if a homeowner decided to go easy on the late summer/fall mowing routine, they’d find secret pockets of petite flowers all over the property… and the butterflies and pollinators would find them too. Entomologist Doug Tallamy is encouraging people in the US to welcome nature at home by planting native plants in their lawns. If it works, we’ll create a huge, network of “Homegrown National Park” space. Planting wildflower lawn seed into an existing organic lawn is a baby step in the homegrown park process. Adding life sized native plant landscaping that won’t be mowed can come in future steps.
A pound of our wildflower lawn seed mix is a lot of seed. Therefore, a pound can cover a massive lawn area, possibly up to an acre. Meanwhile, a smaller area of 1000 square feet could be planted densely with this volume.
This seed mix is a proprietary blend of two Aster species and Yarrow. Local harvested by hand, ready to re-purpose your lawn into a habitat dreamscape.
