Fall fun gardening projects

Every fall I like to shift gears sometimes and do some gardening projects that are just shear fun. This week I got a call to create a fall festival atmosphere at a home where a 4 year old’s birthday party will be happening this weekend. When I arrived the space looked very bleak, just some tired Stelladora Daylilies and unremarkable shrubs. After scalping the dayliliy remnants and surveying the space’s dimensions I returned from the garden center with my vehicle stuffed with bales of hay, Asters, Mums, grass stalks, scare crows and ornamental Kale. A short time later the fun fall garden project had transformed the front of the house into a warm festival atmosphere, and the birthday boy was ecstatic. (The two scarecrows next to each other were his suggestion, because he thought they might need a hug.)
